When Scout learn that way was a sin she like changing Boo as to Bob. And it wasnt right to shoot at the mocking birds Jem and Scout thought it was fun for them to do that. Jem and Scout might have felt bad for what they did,and they wont do it again.

DexterT

The two themes of the book would be a good person in the story and the bad side of the story. The bad side would be that the people od Maycomb that its was right to jugde that person by there skin color. And that was a the right to do like Tom had to go to court because of Mayella and how she lied on him. And the good thing is that Jem and Scout have a good parent that teaches them the right things. And how Atticus try to provided them with the best in in life and not jugde the person before you meet them.

DexterTaylor

I think that Atticus put so much effort into defending into that case because he knew Tom was inncent. And that if he won that case then people would think like he thought. And thats was every person is equal it didnt matter what skin color you are right is right and wrong is wrongs. And the people would think that he was not guilty and they want kill him for something he didnt do. If Maycomb had enough people that had listen to his side then maybe they would have not wanted the case.

DexterT

Yes I do symthpathize for her when she grew up as a child. As whe she was a small child she didnt know that lying was wrong. And she keep thinking that lying was a good thing but is not.I feel bad that she was raised like that by her father and he shouldnt have done that. And now that she is a older person now its a habit that she has and she cant get ride of it. It must have been hard for her always lying and in result of that she had no friends and a lonely person in school. Also it want right for what she did to that black and she should have done things her way.

DexterT

Atticus is trying to say that you shouldnt jugde the person before you get to know them. He wants to let her know its not right for her to do that. And you dont know what that person had to go through to get in that situation. He wanted her to know it wasnt easy to get where he was today and that she has to go to school to learn. And not stay home and be like him he wanted her to make something of herself.

CharlesC

Yes, I do think that Author “Boo” Radley was the only mocking bird in the novel. I think so because even though people were suspicious about the entire Radley family, instead of getting to know how the entire Radley family really was, they only have to get to know Boo Radley. Instead of Boo being a bad and scary person that stalks people while they are sleep, he was found to be a kind and humble person that instead of taking a life saved two. I also believe that Boo is the only “mocking bird” because even though they thought wrong of some other people such as Bob Ewell, they turned out to be worse than what everyone thought instead of better. I believe that when they compare the situation with Boo with killing a mocking bird, they mean that assuming that a kind and innocent person like Boo would do such a terrible act.

CharlesC

In spite of the circumstances and even though the odds were against him and Tom Robinson, Atticus put all of his effort into trying to persuade the jury and members of the court that Tom was in fact innocent of raping Mayella Ewell. I believe that Atticus put all of his effort into winnig this case becaude he did not want to be like the rest of the town and give up hope when there could have been a chance that Tom coould have went free. I beliece that Atticus aso tried so hard to defend Tom because scout and Jem were looking forward to Tom and Atticus winning the case. Another possibility is that he did not want to contradict himself, because he told Scout in a previouschapter that he did defend a "nigger" and that there was nothing wrong with it. Atticus also could have defended Tom so much because he felt deep down inside that tom was innocent and he knew that all Mr. Gilmer had was a mess of lies that held together his case. Atticus did not want to see an innocent man go to jail and possibly his death. I was lead to believe that Atticus also started to get to know tom and get close to him. I fell this way because of his reaction when he found out that tom had been killed. All in all, I believe that atticus tried his best to defend tom was because he kept thinking of hes family at home because Mrs. Maudie was telling scout that his wife could not get a job and that they needed to support thier family. I believe that this alone was enough to keep atticus going because people of Maycomb, including Aunt Alexandra, describe atticus asbeing a caring person that the entire town can depend on.

JohnP

I do not believe Boo Radley is the only innocent "mockingbird" in this book, I also believe that Tom Robinson is an innocent in this novel. Tom Robinson was put to his death because he was a decent person, and because of the enormous prejudice against blacks in Maycomb. Tom was much like a mockingbird in this novel, because he did no damage to anything, and only provided a service, much as mockingbirds are described as in the text.

JeremyT

I believe that Boo Radley was not the only innocent person, or mockingbird in the novel. Tom Robinson, accused of rape by Bob Ewell ony because the color of his skin, was convicted and sent to prison for it. He was then shot and killed by trying to escape because he knew he did not do anything wrong. I say he was betrayed by Bob Ewell because on some days Tom would do free work for him on his way to his own job. Also, Boo Radley is an innocent man because during most of the story he stayed in his house not communicating or harming the town at all. Then when he does show himself at the end of the book, he is a very nice man, and you can tell he is very shy and just wants to be left alone. By saying this, Boo Radley is not the only innocent man, or the only mockingbird in the novel.
